Krakow, Poland

Krakow, Poland

A selection of images from my recent travels to Krakow, Poland.

Starting with a panoramic rooftop view over the city, taken from my much cherished and favourite cafe in the city, then into the main market square of Old Town Krakow, where Easter Market stalls testify to the time of my visit.

On to Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial museum, the former death camp where many people, especially Jews were murdered by the Nazis. If you’re visiting Krakow, there are lots of excursions available to Auschwitz and the Salt Mines (also featured).

You may notice there are several similar images of the outstanding Saint Mary’s Basilica, which dominates the Market Square of the old town.
My preferred style of photographic publication is to resist lots of post-production cropping and straightening in software. I prefer sharing the images captured by the camera. That said, on some occasions when using a super-wide-angle lens, the barrel distortion (pinching) isn’t to everyone’s liking. With this in mind, I have used software to adjust some shots from inside the Basilica..

Thank you for looking.
